What I know:
RK pistons OE Escorts malhe for std and 1st over. They never made any other sizes for RKs. Ambika made all sizes but were after market not OE.

How about hearing from someone who knows for sure?

When you talk about Ambika pistons they are also OE for IDEAL JAWA (ROADKINGS).

I guess they were supplied to IDEAL JAWA

Cylinder reboring work will be a cheap 100 - 250 bucks if you remove it yourself, go to the lathe guy and tell him exactly what you want, presuming you know what tyou want. if you dont and only have a vague idea about how reboring works, then you pay for the mechanic's time and knowledge. I think 1 grand is fair for a good job.

Piston and cylinder rings, are we talking about Ambika pistons or original Escords malhe pioston and rings? If the Escorts, then it will cost you well over the 2000/. They are simply not available so if you find one, its pretty damn good. 

Now for the rest of the engine spares, how is your crank holding up? does this figure include bearings, oil seals, locks, as well as clutch plates, chain, sprockets etc?

Does this chap have a reputation for flawless work, coz these rates are top class rates.

I agree with Niel. you certainly can ask for a breakup of parts. Has he split up your engine yet?

10 grand fro an engine rebore , etc .... I doubt your mecchie is robbing  you my friend .....do one thing ...ask him to give a break-up for the 10k , then we will know how much he is charging for labour etc...

 I got my jawa restored in AP. here are the charges :

Cylinder rebore at a lathe shop : it costed me a cheap 100 bucks , since you are in bangalore he might charge you 500/-

Piston and piston rings would cost you anything from 800/- to 1500/-

So the cost incurred for the cylinder rebore would be around 1000/- to 2000/- ( depends on the company and place )

crack Work resetting costed me 500/- , it might cost you around 1000 /-

So the rest of the 7000/- is for the engine like clutch plates, clutch chain , etc.....i think its expensive .

Guys is 10k resonable for an engine rebore and rest of the spares including the labour (only engine work for yezdi roadking) ?
i think its pretty high,Had been to meet a mechie shannu in jayanagar 4th block its his estimate.
