Subject: Re: [Yamaha FJR1300 Club] Trip and clock displays reset
I have a 2006 and occasionally when I make a short stop with the engine fully
warmed up, and I attempt to start it it sounds like the battery is low and then
it freaks the clock out like the power had been shut off. Initially I thought
it was a weak battery or not completely effective charging system but neither of
those proved to be a problem. Never have accurately diagnosed the problem. (But
on the other hand, it's alway started.)

first week and 401 miles with the "new" bike and all smiles. On a ride in the
north georgia mountains today we stopped to check the map and when I started it
up it sounds like the starter was straining (like a weak battery) but started
right away --- after about .5 miles I noticed that the trip meters read .5 miles
and the clock showed 1:00. The headlights don't change with rpm's and we stopped
another 7 times and the issue never returned. This is a 2005, 1300A -- anyone
heard of this happening before and a idea of where to look.
I haven't done any maintainance on the bike yet - waitng for the repair manual
(except check the tire pressure and oil level - of course) The dealer installed
a new battery last Saturday -- could it be a correded / loose battery
connection??
Any thought from TWOG....
Thanks.... Bruce B.
