Hey Mike, Its nice here from you. I retired and moved to Fl.. I bought a 40
foot Diesel pusher motorhome. I put a lift on the back and hit the road with Sue
and my wing. We ended up in Riverview Fl..We spend the winter in Fl. and in May
we head north to Maine and then west to Seattle and then south to LA , then to
Vegas and on back to Fl. by Oct. 1st. We hit as many bike weeks and wing
ralleys and Blue Knights Ralleys as we can fit in. and trying to hit different
cities each year. We have done this thre summers now. We are usually in Ca. in
Sept. I talk to Tom Wilson itevery now and then and he told me the club dried
up. It's good to here you are trying to revive it. I always enjoyed rideing
with you guys. Larry Carter it would be great to visit you in Texas. I will put
your address in my GPS. I bought a mobilehome in a senior park 3 years ago when
home prices were through the roof, but now that the prices are coming down I am
buying a nice big house on a golf course. They have come down so much and with
the record low interest rates ,I hope to buy 3 or 4 more houses in the next
year. Sue and I are still together and still getting along great. We would love
to ride with you guys when we are in LA. I hope you guys have a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year. Mike Branam and Sue Estrada 215 Kari Dr. Riverview Fl.

in Fl. is a local call.

If anyone is still out there, Wings Of The Phoenix will attempt to rise from the
ashes once again in 2009. It has come to my attention that some of the members
that went with the ill-fated offshoot group would Rather ride with a "Safer"
group like they were used to. If anyone would like to help Wings Of The Phoenix
rise again, let us knows. We would love to hear from you! Larry trusted me to
keep the club he started happy and safe. Renee and I did our best for four
years. If we would have known what would happen when we stepped down, we would
have just cut back on activities instead of leaving all together.Renee and I
still enjoy riding with a group, and miss a lot of our old friends. We look
forward to an exciting 2009, and hope to put on some miles with friends.Happy

Mike and Renee,
Merry Christmas to you both from the great state of Texas!? It warms my heart
beyond description to hear that Wings of the Phoenix may rise from the ashes
again!? It was difficult for me to be so far away and be unable to help hold
everything together there.? My fondest memories of my 26 years in California
have always been the GWTA family and Chapter S.? As I told you when you accepted
the challenge of Chapter Director, the secret is to just have fun and the rest
will fall in place.? And even though miles separate us now, if there's any way I
can be of help, please don't hesitate to call!? My Wing is resting in the warmth
of the garage right now, waiting for new tires.? I miss riding with old friends
there,so come on down to Texas and I'll show you some great roads in my little
part of the country.? You've always got a place to kick off your boots.? My best
to you and Renee for this Christmas season and in the coming year.? Please keep
in touch.? I've missed you all so much.

I won't comment on that description, but will say it is nice to hear from you.
After my bike sat in the garage almost unused, I sold it last spring. When the
weather warms up, we'll see if the itch returns (it always has in the past). I
hope you are well and I thank you for all the hard work you put in during the
years I rode with the club...it is clear now that it was you two that held it
together.
Be well....

Hi Mike,
Unfortunately, due to the economics of the times, I had to sell my Wing so I
no longer ride.
Sorry to hear that the group had problems. I enjoyed riding with you all
for the few times our
schedules coincided. One of the reasons I joined was because you rode on
Sundays. Then you switched to Saturdays and that was a conflict and we were
no longer able to attend.
In any case, good luck in the future. If I get another Wing, I will look
you guys up.

Dear Chapter Members and Friends:
By now most of you have heard about Jay Murdocks passing.
Below is the information I just received from Diane Huff about Jay's
Memorial Service.
______________________________________________________________________
_________
Hi Everybody
I now have the information for Jay's Memorial Service.
The place will be
Dickie Funeral Home
8030 Mango Ave.
Fontana
The viewing is on Friday at 6:00 pm.
The Memorial Service will be on Saturday from 1:00-4:00 where the
Patriot Guards will honor him as a Vet. There will be a gathering on
the grounds after the service.
Of course, we will not be having our dinner ride on Saturday,
however, We will still have our breakfast meeting on Sunday because I
think this would be a good time to take up a collection for Louise to
help her defray the costs of the service instead of waiting for the
Sweetheart ride. We will still be doing that at the ride too, but
several of us feel this would be appropriate. If you feel
differently, please contact me. I really need your input. I flying
solo here, so let me know, okay? I honestly feel that Jay would have
wanted it this way.
God bless you all and remember to ride your bikes to the services
there if you have them! I DO know that's what jay wants!
Diane
