WELCOME TO VWOODIES!

Shown is charter member Graeme Thickins' Stevenson Projects woodie. Graeme divides his time between the lovely climate of san Clemente, California and the brutal weather of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Over the years, quite a few VW Beetle woodies have seen the light of day. Most are the handiwork of creative owner/builders. Some were actually manufactured in limited numbers, and still others were built from kits of parts or from plans in magazines such as "Popular Mechanics".

The mission of this Group and its SECOND sister Group, VWoodies2, is to bring together all the information we can find on these unique conversions, including photos and written material, for access of all members. Stevenson Projects VWoodies like the one above, along with Senhor California's miniWoodie design, Type 3 adaptations, and other variations, are covered in great detail in this group and VWoodies2 (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vwoodies2). You should join BOTH groups to get a complete overview of the state of VWoodie conversions.
