From memory, I think the Eurovan motor makes only 140HP, but with more torque low in the band than the car version.

That would be correct.

I would get a manual for both vehicles to see if there are any physical mounting differences, and I would expect to have to buy an entire motor including injectors, intake, MAF and ECU.

I bet the cams are the biggest difference between the motors.

The intake manifold is probably the biggest difference for two reasons:  packaging and the low end torque thing.  The cams are
different for the low end torque as Paul pointed out.  One possible other thing - I seem to recall that the EuroVan VR6 was the first
application to use the 24 valve VR6 in North America, but I'm not sure what year.  If yours has the 24 valve motor, your stuck with
looking for motors from 2002 and newer cars.

Subject: [vr6] EuroVan engine swap

What are the differences in the VR6 in my 1999 EuroVan and the VR6's
in Jetta's, etc.

I need to replace my engine and thought it might be easier to find an
engine from a Jetta or Passat.

TIA
