outside but if they arre old they will be swelled
inside making it very hard to stop.I have this happen
to me many times when I buy old cars.Dont forget the

hi lists,
I'm new to this list. i have a 62 t-bird with a little problem. i guess
my brake booster may be going out. what's happening is i have to exert
He-Man strength to get the bird to stop. i bled the brakes which did
take away some of the "spongeiness" you feel when there's air in the
lines. i did replace a vacuum hose that was shot, it goes from the
booster back down into the transmission tunnel, but that brought me no
closer to the solution. has anyone else had a similar problem? i'll
take any advice i can scare up.
thanks all,
and remember, it ain't worth doin' if ya can't make it fun!

Hi Grumpy,
I'm guessing that you're getting messages from this group sent
directly to your email. That is an option for receiving messages.
However, to post pictures you just have to come directly to the
actual group webpage -
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vintagethunderbirds/
...then you can probably figure out the rest.
Hope that's the info you need to get started. Good luck, and looking
forward to seeing your pics.

Hi oflond. You must have your preferences for
this Vintage Thunderbird club set so that you receive
emails of each message. That message from laird1111 was
actually a response to usmcmech, the original person that
was looking to buy a 77-79 T-bird.

You can see
what I mean if you come to the club page itself and
re-read the last few messages:

Well I'm a new member but I am asking if anybody
is interested in buying a 66 thunderbird town landau
coupe with a 390 V8, C6 auto, ps, pb, p-win which
currently are not working, AM radio that works just needs
an antenna, heat with a no A/C option from factory,
new exhaust manifolds and dual exhaust system ordered

$2,600, if you are interested write a message I'll get
back to you.
Yes, you could win a GORGEOUS 1955 Thunderbird
Convertible for only $100. It's a charity benefit for St.
Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix.

The car also has a
'56 top [with portholes], is red and was appraised at
between $30 - $40,000!

Very limited ticket sales,
so your chances are good, but I intend to
win.

For info about the car/raffle or an email
notification about ticket sales, email

Hi! Just got another T'bird, a 64 coupe. It'll be
decapitated soon, ala my 59. I have an extra decklid that'll
be made into a swoopy tonneau cover. Plans are for
lime gold candy, pearl white interior, severly chopped
w/shield and a shortened, folding removable top using 64
convert top bows. It's a nice driver, we drove it from
Manhattan to Detroit with no probs. I'll post some photos
as it progresses. Brian
I have a picture of Marilyn Monroe and one of her
many husbands in thier '55 TBird. It's a B&W photo so
I can only see that it's a dark color. I also was
skimming through a classic car book at Books-A-Million
yesterday that showed a pink '56 TBird with continental kit
that belonged to her. Sorry, I don't remember the
book's title.

I went to a car show last year (in
Florida) and there was a grey '56 TBird there that
belonged to Humphrey Bogart. The owner had complete
documentation for proof. He paid a huge price (I think I
remember about $60K) for it at an auction (IMHO way too
much for the "average" condition of the
car).

He's not a "star", but my '64 Convertible belonged to
George Gillette of Gillette Razor fame. I have
documentation for that, too.
Does anyone know of stars from the 50s that owned a Thunderbird? Any advice on
where to find this information would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

"minimal" payment and a future credit toward purchasing a
newer vehicle, all in a misguided attempt to improve
the overall fuel economy of the country's vehicle

I'm currently looking to get rid of my 1966 Bird
due to financial constraints.
It has recently
undergone a complete 428 engine rebuild (heads, trans,
intake, etc) and the body is in solid condition.
It
does not have a working radio as I was in the process
of finding one before financing broke down. Power
locks also need to be looked at.
It comes with your
option of many spare parts (wheel covers, chrome, some
misc 390 parts, as well as manuals, books,
etc).
I'm located in Central NJ. Any offers can be emailed
to me at wmaestro@....
By no means is
this car concourse...however, it is in great condition
and has been my daily ride for months.

Email
me if interested. I'm asking in the area of $4000
(that's including all sparts and manuals, books,
etc.)

Vinnie
Hi Kid. If you register with the "Square Birds
(1958-1960)" message list on the following website you will
find a PILE of people with the same cars who use the
list to ask and answer questions just like you've
asked. Someone will almost always have an answer for
you, and a lot of times with paint colour questions
there is a concours judge or two that uses the list
themselves, and they will have the right answer.

It
takes a little work to get registered, but once you do
you will be amazed at the wealth of knowledge you'll
be tapped into. If interested, check it out:
