You can most probably rebuild your old shock. It comes apart fairly easily. May just need oil, or maybe the seal. Take it off and take it apart. Got for it!...

The socket is fairly basic. It's strip of metal with a wire on it. The bulb & metal strip fit in the space below the speedo so the light shines up to the face...
