This group was created for owners and fans of Audi's "original" quattro, AKA "urquattro" sold in the USA and Canada from 1982 to 1986, and in other parts of the world from 1981 to 1991 (or so). This group is being created in the "classic" area as the urquattro becomes 25 years old with the 2008 model year.

The primary motivation for the creation of the group was to take advantage of the features of Yahoo groups for the coordination of meetings of the Urquattro Preservation Group (UPG). At this time it is recommended that owners and fans of the urquattro also subscribe to the "urq" group on audifans and use that for general information and questions. UPG => Urquattro Preservation Group - This is largely an ad hoc group of owners and fans of the Audi Quattro Turbo Coupe who are working to preserve and promote the urq. For the most part this involves planning and holding get togethers of various scopes during the year. If you plan a UPG meeting, please post it to the calendar for this group and add reminders so that all the members of the group will be aware.
