To remove outer bearing shell of any type Just run a weld around the
shell inner face using a Stainless Steel rod
The shell shrinks when it cools down
And generally falls out if not a genital tap with a hammer and drift
will do it

...At first it was my plan to fit new bushes to the hinged part of the
mountings. The old ones seem rather hard to remove though. With the
outer steel surface seized to the differential.
I guess a drill to get rid of the inner steel bush and the rubber, and
a hacksaw to get rid of the outher steel house will do the job.
I am not att all sure.

Bill's right; your plan should work. At slightly greater risk to the
environment, I used a propane torch to burn the rubber out, and then a
carefully held power "Sawz-All" to cut through the metal sleeves.
Worked fine, and new ones were not difficult to press in.

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
