The basic issue is insufficient (virtual) engine size/technology. Without a
turbo theres not a lot you can do.
An exhaust system will help, as will propane assistance. However a 25%
(realistic & reliable) improvement still wont make it a rocket due to the
vehicle weight.
You need to increase the engine size (replacement or/and turbo) or/and drop a
LOT of weight.
I have a 4.5L turbo petrol (in landcruiser), and thats no rocket either becuase
the car weighs in at 2.8 tonne. But it does go a LOT better & does surprise
some people :-)
I think its great when people develop products like this... however I
have an older diesel toyota pickup with 2.2L mechanical injection
pump and injectors. HOW can I increase my power without putting a
turbo on it? My stock exhaust pipe is 1 7/8" diameter, do you think
putting a 2" exhaust and free flow muffler and highflow intake and
filter will increase my power and improve the powerband or will it
hurt my low end torque, power curve and fuel economy too much? I'm
getting new exhaust this week and would be nice to know.
Thanks,
Dave
