Dont expect too much from a 1HZ - only 96KW and just 285nm - thats not much!
The 13BT actually runs a little more torque, and very similar power. Of course
a 1HDT or 1HDFT will produce a LOT more and broader torque band. Naturally you
would be looking for a suitable gearbox & transfer from an 80 series landcruiser
to take the extra grunt.

Ah, but, until I get the 3B rebuilt, the turbo will not help to much. As it is I
currently have only about 14:1 compression ( if I am remembering correctly )
that is what the former owner said. From what I have been told I should have
between 20:1 to 24:1 compression And if I put a turbo on it, that will make it
susceptible to higher emissions standards as well.
I have been having this dream about pulling the 3B and putting in a naturally
aspirated 1HZ that is good up to 7000 ft, before it starts losing power due to
altitude ( then maybe putting a turbo on it as well....LOL...."fly like an
eagle", comes to mind).
