I got mine at Toyota of Manhattan, primarily because that is where I plan to
have it serviced. NYC has a fleet of a couple of hundred, and Manhattan Toyota
has a lot of service experience with the Prius. I've also gotten positive
recommendations about their service. The car is too new to require service (3
months, 5,000 miles), so I can't contribute my personal experience yet.
They also quoted the lowest price to my Internet request for quotation.
However, I can't really recommend their sales department; while I was happy
with the price, they can't do anything right once the sale is closed. The
screwed up my title and registration for 6 weeks, they failed to provide the
roadside assistance card and info, and they didn't register me properly with
their
service courtesy card. I still wouldn't have a registration I hadn't called and
threatened them.
I had been warned by other Toyota (not Prius) owners in my office that Toyota
sales departments were universally incompetent, so I was expecting problems.
I just took it as the penalty for wanting a Prius. Oh, and I said so on the
Toyota satisfaction questionnaire I got. Not that I think it will do much.
