"...and another one bites the dust."
Had my 30K service done this past Wednesday at Don Davis Toyota in
Arlington, TX. They've done three other services in the past (7500,
15000, steering rack replacement) with mixed results but they are the
closest to my office so gave them one more try.
Knew nothing about the appointment when I arrived but seemed to have
no trouble with my specific instructions to use the oil I provided
(5w30 syn), not to over fill the oil and not to rotate the tires (new
800 miles ago).
Picking up the car that evening I get back a vehicle once again
coated with greasy fingerprints inside and out. Something was
spilled and wiped off the front bumper and made a huge mess. 2nd
time for this dealership to return the vehicle to me filthy. Last
was in July 2002 when the steering rack was replaced. (At that time
I actually took the car back for them to clean it which they did
nothing on it the hole day and tried to return it to me dirty again
that evening.)
While it would appear that they did all the work per the schedule
(there's plenty of fingerprints, grease smudges and gunk smeared on
the front, sides and interior of the car as evidence) I just don't
get why they don't take enough care to return the car in at least as
good a condition as it went out.
And here's the capper to the experience. Just got off the phone with
the service manager for Don Davis. I calmly explained to him that I
had no problem with the service done, just that my vehicle was
returned to me in such a dirty condition and that this had happened
before. HE DIDN'T EVEN OFFER TO CLEAN THE VEHICLE! Just "sorry,
glad you brought it to my attention."
On to the next dealership I guess. There has to be one in DFW that
can show enough care and concern to offer an acceptable level of
customer service.
