I am relatively new to this group so if this question has already been answered
please excuse me and just direct me to the answer. I have a 2009 Prius.

Some of the recent posts suggest that braking does not involve discs or drums
until the last few feet. I don't understand this.

Could someone please tell me how the regenerative brakes work? I would like a
mechanical answer rather than a general answer. I have not noticed a difference
in braking effort in neutral versus in drive.

For all of the guys in this group that look for any reason to be critical, I
know shifting into neutral while still moving is bad.

Thank you,

John
