Our microwave path engineer at work was telling me about a task he
was given to locate a problem in a parking lot where the cars often
would not respond to remote controls. Since there was a power line
nearby (where is there NOT one?) our utility was blamed until we
could prove it wasn't us (sigh.) Dave brought a spectrum analyser
and a yagi, which led him to a local bar. It wasn't open for
business but the owner or manager was there. It seems they had
recently installed a wireless control for their dance floor
lighting - when Dave had them use the alternate channel the problems
disappeared.
