Many of these have wonderful compact engine/ component packaging and a CofG lower than common motorcycles with comfortable car seating and a step-thru chassis. INSTEAD of First Building a COMPLEX Vehicle; it is good to experiment quickly and cheaply with bare, light chassis'. A good motor for testing lightweight chassis similar to a Human Powered Vehicle is the Electric Hub Motor typically used for POWER-ASSISTed H.P.V.'s. Wheelchairs would likely be improved if they self-leveled as in Tilting Chassis. There are lean-only-to-steer like a skateboard such as racing wheelchairs, but these have the problem of no independent steering axis. If you search the word handcycle, you can find info. Wheelchairs might make a good test mule for TT experiments in general.
