I have spent many hours researching this & still have yet to get a definitive
answer! Here are the answers I have found:
?? Nash
36 Packard
39 Packard
40 Packard
41 Packard
At the moment (if I had to bet my life) based on the info I have, I'd say that
Packard was 1st & started marketing it on 11-4-39. But was this a 39 or a 40
model? Which series (exact cars had it)? I hear it took up most all of the
trunk! It seems to be in agreement that Cadillac came out with 300 ac cars in
41 so they were 2nd. Can anyone here shed light on this or give me a conclusive
answer by looking in a brochure or such? Several sites list 41 Packard (in a
trivia question) but the majority list 39. I had an email from a Packard Club
guy that said it was 40. The Instructional Resource Center gave the 11-4-39
date. Only one site mentioned NASH. A newsletter mentioned 36 & said it was from
a Packard site. Here is where another source of info is at:
http://www.ThingsToDo.com which says 39.
