It happens when letting out on the clutch when shifting from 1st to
2nd and t a lesser extent 2nd to 3rd. I've had the car for over
three years and am pretty used to how it "should" feel.

What is a 2nd gear synchros? Is this a job for a regular mechanic or
a transmission specialist?
