For some silly reason the thought of making my own rollbar entered my
mine back in February, and I couldn't get rid of it.
Coincidentally I went to a farm clearance sale and picked up what looks
like a 40 year old chunky pipe bender. A proper one, none of this
chinese/taiwanese rubbish rams.
Found some 3 metre lengths of 3mm walled 50mm pipe and started playing.
I really didn't do all that measuring, most of it was with my eye and a
length of #8 fencing wire bent to shape. After about 3 or so hours of
fiddling had the main hoop bent to perfect shape with the two side
down-bars bent and cut to join the main hoop, and tabs welded on for
spot lights. The two side (stability) bars I really wanted to bolt to
the top of the wheel arches, but after seeing how much room they were
going to take up, I opted to make them come out about 8 inches and then
just drop vertical straight down.
Welded the joins, found two bits of about 10 or 12 inch flat plate.
These were welded on to the left bottom main hoop and the left rear side
stability bar, and the same on the right side. Painted. Some more plate
was found and was used up underneath the tray - basically as big
washers. Two bolts on both left and right sides and she was in.
If I was to do it again, I'd make the rear side stable bars bolt to the
wheel arches. I get a little bit of vibration flex in the roll bar how
it is currently mounted, which will eventually start to crack around the
holes in the tray. I need to make up some little tabs to mount to the
two screw holes up above the rear window just to stop the flexing.
But with it being 50mm diameter and 3mm thick pipe, she ain't gonna bend
in a hurry.
As for the rear jump seats --- no idea I'm afraid, hopefully someone
else can help you. They were never imported into Australia.
