I was quite surprized to find the hack far easier to push then the solo with
feels out of balance and with too little rake...ran into some lately who was
making either hardtail frames out of the chang squishtail or making the whole
frame...

Hi Sweden,      It sounds like your 3rd gear is damaged, while the gears themselves are quite robust the actual part of the gear that engages the shaft...
