Back home.  Pie run complete.  Road were AMAZINLY empty this morning, even though I didn't get started till about 9:30.  Really just went out to get some breakfast, but after breakfast the Wing just didn't want to stop, so we ended up at the Koffee Kup!   :-)

Take 114 West to 156 South thru Haslet/Saginaw/ Blue Mound to 820 West/South.  Picked up 820 West to 30 to 20, then took 51 South from Weatherford.  NICE road... wide, smooth 2 laner with no traffic.  Took some loop around Granbury, and hit 377 towards Stephenville, then cut down 2481 in Bluff Dale to 220 to Hico.   Other than the short stretch of 820 and 30/20, a really nice set of roads with very little traffic.  About 120 miles on the trip meter from Roanoke, and got there at noon.

Coming back, took 220 to 67 to 51 thru Paluxy (a few miles of nice 30 mph curves just off 67) up to Granbury.  Traffic was it's usual crawl thru Granbury, but it didn't seem as bad after 45 minutes in the saddle vs. being at the end of trip back from Hunt for the Wildflower ride!    :-)   Took 377 up to the 2841 cutover to 820 to 35 to 170 to 114 to home.   About 225 round trip...  got back about 2:45.

It was warm, but I had just gotten one of those vests you soak in water and then wring out and wear over a tee shirt and under your mesh jacket.   I had one a long time ago, but had forgotten what an AMAZING different these make.  NICE!

Oh, the answer is:   Chocolate creme (that baby was TALL), and Key Lime.

Later!!

Sorry but yes. It is a long haul to get to the good roads. I may take off to the east. Have a good holiday.

Let me ask Robin and see what he thinks? We'd just go for a late breakfast I guess and come back.
