I sympathize, though I'm quite accustomed to both name mis-spellings and being
referenced a 'she'. So it goes. Thanks, dad...who, ironically, is named
Francis, and wanted his son to have a 'manly' name.

Nope, it's just a mileage thing, though I *can* tell you, if anti-freeze/coolant
gets on the belt from the cooling system, it **will** shorten the belt's life.
I learned this on a Chrysler 3.5L V-6, on the side-of-the-road.

2003's have a chain- not a belt and hence do not need changing both my 2003 gv and xl7 explain this in the owners manual...

The 1.8 and 2.0 liter 4s have a chain. In the original email I believe she said 1.6 liter. Seems to be a discrepancy in year, or motor size, or something,...
