So my xt6's have unfortunately been rolled or sold. and now I have lots
of parts left over. would part out but time says all or nothing. Heres
the list:
complete air suspension off of 89 xt6. bought for 300.00 on ebay.never
installed it.
3 efi computers
some air suspension computers
oil pump
There's more misc. items. $500.00 obo
I came to this group because I have an 87 1/2 xt that was stripped
for parts. I thought someone here might need something. I have a list
at
http://www.geocities.com/d_i56/XT/allparts.htm
Which guy is confused?
Anyway, that's a lot of XT's you've owned. I've got a question for you. The
4WD Turbo XT had a height control switch on it. My XT6's height is computer
controlled. According to my owner's manual, the Canadian version of the FWD XT6
also had a switch for height control. Do you think a conversion is possible?
My XT6 rides higher than I'd like it to, even at highway speeds.

i'll give some info, but for more information...go
to:http://subaruxt.com/forumthat site is far more user friendly and an excellent
XT6 resource. there's people like me that have owned more than 20 of these
thingsover there. email me or contact me if you need help registering. i think
that guy is confused, he probably has coil over struts (a 4cylinder or FWD XT6)
and does not know much about the 4WD XT6 airstruts. the ONLY easy options you
have are to install FWD XT6 struts all theway around or stick with the air
suspension. the air suspension isvery tricky to work with and is not a good
option for most people. there are very few people in this country that can
adequately work onthe air suspension system. there are very few people that know
how thecompressor, air tank, air tank solenoid, each strut solenoid, computer,
and height sensors all work and know about the variousfailure modes of them -
like the nozzles on the air compressor, ororings in the solenoids, tank, struts,
compressors....etc. often 75cent problems turn into $1,000+ repairs for the air
suspension. that's not very economical or reasonable for most XT6 owners.
particularly considering how cheap these cars are. i've gotten 5 fora grand
total of under $500 for all 5 of them.there is another option of swapping to
conventional struts - involvingplaying with Legacy/Impreza struts and using EA
series rear struts. it's actually very easy but there's a few details you need
to know todo it. --- In subaruxt6club@yahoogroups.com, CHRISTOPHER
