Description

This is a discussion forum for owners of the Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, and as a side tangent, the U.S. WRX turbo wagon. If you are considering purchasing the car and want to get an owners' point of view you are very welcome to join in and ask questions.

Original clutch replaced at 145 K
'99 OBS no mods and I just had the original clutch replace by dealer (I chickened out doing it myself). Cost $1060. Pretty high considering that is more than

Not really. Well, with the exception of the suspension joints if they require a torch. Otherwise, it's just those two joints for the hub assumbly assuming

That's a lot of work for little benefit on a 12 year old basic transportation car with little real performance.

I'd almost suggest just replacing the whole assembly with rear discs, but then I recall I had to employ a torch to get some of the suspension joints loose.

it's actually an oval-shaped plug. inside, there is a star/spur shaped wheel that you turn with a brake adjusting tool, like a bent screw driver. turning one
