I have a Lance Touring edition and in the manual it mentions it has a
kickstand cutoff switch. Mine happens to not work and I can start it
when the kickstand is down but you may want to check if yours has that
switch that is working intermittently.

I have a fairly new Lance Vintage 150 and I am having some issues with
the electric start. One minute it worked fine, the next I can't even
get it to turn over. The battery is fine, the scooter will start via
the kickstart, but the starter won't engage.

I have made sure to properly account for all of the interlocks (i.e.
rear brake on, etc.). I seem to remember having an intermittent
problem similar to this with another scooter some time back. Has
anyone experienced anything like this. Any ideas? If this were an
old bar, I would go bang on the starter motor - but I doubt it has to
do with the motor itself. My gut tells me it is either a switch or
interlock issue.

Thanks in advance.

I am having some problems with my under seat lock on a Strada RX8. I
put the key in the lock and turn it and it doesn't seem to pull the
cable to pop the seat. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this
problem?

All of these types of scooters have the same problems.
Beware if you scoot has "ABS" braking on the front disc.
This braking system is only there to Stop the front wheel from Locking.
If you bake hard, the valve releases the pressure and reduces the stopping force.
One of the guys we ride with had a Tank 250cc and he panic stopped from 15 MPH and drove right into the car that pulled out in front of him. Totalled the bike.
I used to own a Strada RX200HP, now I ride a Honda. You can really see why one bike sells for 5500.00 and the other is only 2500.00.
Is your safety and piece of mind worth the difference?

relatively hard using the front brake more than the rear, the bike dips
forward and the top of the fork hits the fender. Very annoying for
several reasons:the fender is getting destroyed and anytime it happens
it makes a terrible noise. I wonder if there is a way to tighten up the
front shocks to eliminate the problem. The rear brake is very sluggish
on these scooters: you have to squeese it very hard to make the machine
slow down.

I received my 2006 (new) scooter on 3/5/2008. It arrived, as stated
in an earlier post on the 300cc, in a metal framework on a metal
pallet in a cardboard shroud. It had no damage. We had it assembled
and running in an afternoon. The weather turned nasty, so we have
only 13 miles on it at this point. It runs great and feels good. No
problems so far.

Received on 9/05/07 on a metal crate with a cage built around it-
scooter came without any damage whatsoever, but to remove the cage and
to take the bike of the crate is not an easy task -you definitelly need
an xtra pair of strong hands- this scooter is really heavy. Did not
find any loose bolts/nuts, except the light switch under the seat was
hanging loose. Scooter is assembled except for the mirrors and the
windshield. Distributor did not provide any instructions on how to put
them on the bike. If you dont have mechanical background it is going
to be really challenging on putting the windshield on. Plus the holes
in the plexiglass don't line up with the mounts. Mirrors are easy-just
screw in to the master brake cylinders. The antifreeze definitely needs
changing-the colour of the factory antifreeze is beyond description
plus it has loads of silicon-like clumps in it. The bike has a design
flow-rear fender only covers the back of the wheel, in the front all
road crap is being thrown on to the starter, air filter, etc. On the
bright side the scooter has plenty of power and feels solid.

1. Remove radiator fill cap
2. On right side of engine, near the forward bottom, is the water pump (has a hose attached to it). There should be 4 chromed screws holding it on. The lowest one is actually a drain plug (only on with a gasket). Remove that one and coolant should start to drain out. (messier but faster is to just disconnect the hose at the pump)
3. Squeeze the coolant hoses periodically to force out as much of the old coolant as possible
4. Replace/reconnect anything loosened/removed except for the radiator cap.
5. Fill the radiator until the level can be seen in the fill opening.
6. Start the engine and snap the throttle open and closed several times to "burp" out any trapped air. When the level drops ...
7. Repeat 5 and 6 until no more coolant can be added
8. Replace the radiator cap
9. Find the coolant overflow bottle and remove any old coolant (suck out with turkey baster and plastic hose) and refill with fresh coolant.
10. Ride bike for 10-15 minutes and recheck coolant level and add as needed.

BE SURE TO USE A NON-SILICATE TYPE COOLANT! THE ONES CONTAINING SILICATES WILL EAT UP THE WATER PUMP IN SHORT ORDER!

The MC54B has the Linhai clone engine and the water pump is on the left side. Otherwise, the directions are very similar. Stan
