Just had a look at Johann's web site and he has a posting stating that the next
Trike Trek will be to the Alice again on 6th - 11th October 2011.
I personally oppose such a trip as we have already done the Alice and now we
should choose another destination.
The following is the posting I just made on Johann's site.
Sorry Guys, been there done that and another trip to the Alice would be just
that "another trip".
I strongly believe that this wonderful concept should be moved around Australia
on a three yearly basis and held in the centre of each state (largest town
closest to the centre of state).
October is definately not the time to be traveling the Red Heart due to the
extreme heat and the onset of the wet season. The road tempratures are extreme
and we all know the humble VW likes to stay reasonably cool to perform at its
best.
If this trip was to proceed I'd be looking at the start of September and no
later and then I would contact someone local for their oppinion.
I for one will be returning to the Alice in the future for a holiday as the
Trike Trek was my first visit and I had a wonderful time and met some wonderful
people both trikers and locals.
2011 will see me in the Hunter Valley for the Ulysses AGM and a wee holiday on
the way home, that will put around 4,000k's on the old clock.
This is my oppinion only and in no way ment to influence anyone.

On a lighter note I'd like to mention that mackay is about to get it's first
Panther trike. One of our Ulysses members has stepped off the GoldWing onto
three. Once he gets it I'll take some shots and post them for all to see.
Glen Bedwell stopped off for a cuppa a few days ago on his way back home from
the Gold Coast, it was great to catch up with one of natures Gentlemen.
For those who don't know Bubba blew his motor on the way home from the Alice. He
made it from Port Douglas to the Alice then down through South Australia back up
to Bundy and she quit on him about 30k's south of Sarina. Steve came to the
rescue with Bubba's second car so as he could carry on to Port Douglas and we
put his trike on a trailer and I ran Steve and trike back to Bundy, how's it
going Steve?.
Well it's Sunday and they do a mean Bacon & Eggs at the Shell servo and I'm off
to indulge.
