Re: [sprintformation] rear brake pressure limiter

I'm months behind in my reading - Martin, have you found a solution by now?
If not, I can explain how you can pull these things apart for internal
clean-up, as I've had to do with a couple of mine that'd rusted up and
seized. Cleaning up the bore, piston & seal may stop yours leaking.

Rgds,
Graham in NZ.

Subject: rear brake pressure limiter

My 1976 Ti has just failed the MOT with a leaking rear pressure limiter. As
the part is no longer available I have a problem. Was the same limiter
fitted to any other cars like Fiats ? Phill of JustSuds says a limiter from
a Mini (although he does not know which year) can be fitted. Has anyone else
tried this?
Martin

Thanks for remembering me. I have solved the problem by swapping the part with one off a low mileage Ti I have in storage. When I come to restore that one.I...

Good-o Martin. The seizing of clutches on stored Suds (and Nords) is a problem all right. And those rear brake pressure limiters also tend to seize with lack...

As part of our annual MOT test they test the braking effort by sitting the car on powered rollers and the rear limiter works perfectly despite the fact the...

Has anyone got anything else to say? My Sprint hasn't run for 18 months, the last four months it's been under a sheet on the drive. To be honest I'm scared to...

YES! Make sure the sheet is tied down good and proper in all four corners or the wind will get under it and it will flap about at night. ... Send instant...
