Description

We are Los Angeles area diesel car drivers and car tuners hell-bent on minimizing the impact of our activity on our environment. The purpose of this list is to provide a forum for users of WVO and SVO to share and discuss issues and realities related to obtaining and using vegetable and plant oils for fuel.

Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO), a form of Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO), is a major competing form of BioFuel (BioFuel is mostly plant-based fuel). You may have heard of producing Biodiesel by reacting grease with ethanol or methanol, and lye. Given the climate of Southern California, we choose to run our diesels on waste grease or virgin plant oils. Largely motivated by the groundbreaking discussions on such lists as SoCalBioDiesel, we hope communication will spread knowledge, and through that, self-sufficiency.
