I love the S10EV. We are getting solar panels installed soon so it will be a true eco friendly ride. I have only had it since Feb. My S10EV was a fleet vehicle at Disneyland. Then it was bought and serviced by EVBones.com
. These guys only work on this one type of vehicle; they know their stuff and I would not buy an S10EV from anywhere else. They are in AZ and it was $800 shipping to get it up here (Portland OR). It seems like a lot of EV fleet vehicles from the late '90s are coming to the end of their fleet service and being sold at auction. So if you are interested in an OEM built EV, this seems like a good time to get one.
I have recorded the starting & ending charge and distance of every trip I have taken in the S10EV, you can see they in this google spreadsheet:

As for the Prius plug-in conversions, our 2001 Prius is a gen1 and AFAIK there are no plug-in conversions for that year. You need a gen2 Prius (2004-2007) for that. So I can not recommend one conversion type over another since I have not tried them.

Pat

Morning Paul:
A Prius, and an Electric Car, are pretty much two totally different
vehicles. You can convert a Prius, to include extra batteries, and
grid-charging. ( $10,000) Solar panels and converters can be had by any
of dozens of Solar Power people. In the Phone Book, or just Google
Solar Power...

There are SEVA members all over the three counties. And some in
Pt.Townsand, and on the Olympic Peninsula, and Whidbey Island.
So I am not sure who you talked to.
Dave Cloud is east of Woodinville, one of our most prolific converters.
Rich Rudmand, makes one of the worlds best EV Chargers, in Kingston.
Suggest you make the August meeting. Details again On our Web Site.
