Clutch/Starter interlock   Message List

The button behind the clutch that has to be pushed down for the car to start
seems to be having problems on my 1988 SE. (i.e., having to push the clutch
down a couple of times before it will start.) How easy/difficult is it to
replace this button? It's kind of hard to see very well. Is there an easy way
to by-pass this interlock? I know that that would create the "risk" that the
car could be started in gear, but that's not something I've ever done in all the
years I've owned vehicles with manual transmissions.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions on this one.
