Sounds like it's time for a second opinion to me. If your turbo is having a problem, it should be replaced/rebuilt, never should it be a "wouldn't bother" type...

I think what they are refering to isn't the turbo itself but the tubro seal. If the turbo itself were leaking it would pretty much spell the endof your turbo...
