I've got a 64 Allstate that had a local shop installed 10" front fork. This week
the front
damper came apart -- the damper body shifted off lower rubber bushing, bolt and
nut. What
I found was just the bolt and single nut. An online diagram seems to show a bolt
from one
side and a washer and split washer on the other side before the nut. The
washers look
smaller than the bushing which certainly doesn't keep the damn thing from coming
off again.
Anyone ever install a HUGE washer to keep the damper in place? If I do this am
I doomed to
have the front end lock up? Suggestions?

Thanks.

Andrew
