I just went thru the same thing, Blew the turbo. when the turbo goes, it sucks
the oil out of the engine, if you drove it very much after that first puff of
smoke then you probably fried the motor too (as I did) Which I did not find out
until I had already replaced the turbo, had too much in the car to walk away at
that point so I got the motor rebuilt, they had to use a 2.3 block because all
the 2.0 one that came to the shop could not be recut as they were as bad as mine
was,
The 2.3 has far more power compared to the 2.0 block, so it was the silver
lining on having the motor rebuilt.
