Re: [rvingingincentraloregon] CENTRAL OREGON TRIP/ROAD HELP NEEDED

The roads to Silver Lake are good.  The road up to the Dinner Tree is good.  There is a spot across from the Dinner Tree that you can park a big rig, I think but there is plenty of room down in the Dinner Tree parking lot too.  The road across from Silver Lake to Christmas Valley is also good.  From there out to 395 and 20 is just as good as Hwy 31 is.  So I am sure that you will not have any problems.

My sister, her husband, and my husband and I have been going to the Cowboy Dinner Tree for several years now and we really enjoy it.  The food is great and well worth the money.  I think that the trip is well worth it.
Good luck and have a good time on your travels.

Hi,
We are thinking about visiting The Cowboy Tree in Silver Lake, then
going up to Clyde Holiday State Park to meet family. I'm wonder about
taking Country Road S-145 out of Silver Lake, then Christmas
Valley/Wagontire Road to 395 up to 20, then through Burns, continuing
on 395 up to John Day. This is foreign territory to us. We have a 39'
motor home.

Question .. are the roads good? Is this route good or should we go
back to Bend and take 26 out of Prineville, like Microsoft routes us?
What is recommended?

Question .. I know some of ya'll have been to The Cowboy Tree. Is it
worth the $$$ and the extra mileage?

Thanks for your help.
