Hi Tim.
This will give me a better idea, how about the speedo drive being on the back
wheel?
I suppose the compression on this one is pretty low, once I get it on the road I
will see about getting a higher compression piston and give it a head job.
This weekend there is a big swap meet bikes only hopefully there will be some
enfield bits there.
I have another problem with the bike and that is the plugs that screw into the
top of the forks are stripped and oil squirts out when the front is compressed,
I will see if these can be purchased then will helicoil the tops of the forks.
Cheers

To the best of my knowledge:
Pre 82 saw all bikes with half width hubs and 6" brakes,
Pre 72 there was a pressure relief valve for the return oil. ID;d by
a large 'nut' just under the bottom end of the rocker oil line.
The Pressed flat sided guards typify all bikes from the mid 60's
through to the mid 70's
Your REI numbers are early/mid 60's the EI numbers were applied to
CKD from the UK, but they were all 50's bikes.
Pre 62 bikes had mag dynos. (all the ckd's ex UK)
