Beith Transport Collection – Limited Re-Opening From Tuesday 1st July
2008.
The trustees of the Transport Preservation Trust, operators of the
Beith Transport Collection are delighted to announce that the
collection will be able to reopen in a limited manner from Tuesday
1st July 2008. Anyone wishing to access the site after this date will
require to be a member of the Transport Preservation Trust.
Membership is available at £15 per year which includes unlimited
access during opening hours currently 6 days a week, monthly news
letter, trips out on restored vehicles and the opportunity to get
involved with the development of the collection and restoration of
the many vehicles on site. The trust are also pleased to announce
the introduction of a £2 daily membership which will allow a full
days access to the site. Entry to the site and the collection will
only be permitted to holders of either a daily of yearly membership.
The collection is open Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm, Sunday 10am
till 4pm and is located on Willowyard Road, which is just off the
B777 road between Beith and Glengarnock. There is limited parking
available on site. Stagecoach West Scotland services 32, 337, X34,
X36 and Arriva Scotland West service 18 stop close to the museum.
We are intending to hold a members weekend and vehicle running event
on Saturday & Sunday 23rd/24th August 2008. This was the original
date planned for our autumn open weekend after last years successful
event, however this year the event will consist of a off site running
event and static display at the Beith site. More details to follow
soon!
