Tomorrow, I will be driving Clyde Cars Routemaster RML2465 (JJD 465D)
to the Beith Transport Collection where it will remain in storage until
it has been sold by it's owners. I know of at least one party who is
interested in buying the bus and keeping it at Beith permanently if he
secures ownership. Open top Ex-London General Metrobus M1107 (B107 WUL)
has been purchased by The Daily Record and loaned to Glasgow Rangers
Football Club as their UEFA Cup Final Battle Bus, setting off for
Manchester this morning, it made front page headlines in the paper's
morning edition. May'be I'm just being a paranoid Celtic fan, but I
don't actually remember the Record going out of their way to offer an
open top bus to Celtic when they reached the UEFA Cup Final back in
2003, and they wonder why they are called "The Daily Ranger"?
Finally, McKindless Bus Company ex-London Metrobuses, (mostly B-WUL
sister vehicles of M1107) can still be seen occasionally in Buchanan
Bus Station on their 80 Glasgow-Harestanes route. Beta Buses have also
re-commenced their Round Glasgow Sightseeing Service, again using ex-
London DMS's. So far I have seen two, DM1117 (GHV 117N) & DMS2412 (OJD
412R).
