Greetings Renault Friends:
I am happy to hear someone has started another place where
Renault owners can meet. I own many Renaults, and own a business
called Renault NA. It is a Renault Parts business. We have a large
selection of used parts and some new parts in stock. I am also very
active in the Renault Owners Club of North America. If you are
interested in joining the club or if you need more info about the club
feel free to contact me. Finally if you are interested in
participating in upcoming Renault Events, I have recently sent out a
questionnaire to see what people are looking for in a event. I can
send a copy of the questionnaire to you by e-mail. I hope to meet many
of you in the near future.
Thanks
Marvin

Pierre sells new parts. I find him refreshing because he's got a
positive attitude and because he knows how to say "Peugeot" and not
pyoo-jzo or pooh-jzo. Maybe that's because he's from France. Duh. I
asked him if it was all right to send referrals. He said yes, but that
no one's called yet. I'll keep it short, the LICE (Low Info Content
Enforcers) may be out there. Alan, you know what I mean.

Joe,
I found some ways to get new members. I have been "Harvesting" email address
from Ebay ads. What I do is find out who is bidding for Renault parts or
items and then send them invites. Let me know if you have any ideas.

PS I LOVE AMC/RENAULTS OF THE USA, SPECIALLY THE 2 DOOR MODEL 87 GTA!!
Hi all,
I've just bought two R5s: one is a 1977 limited edition called a Black
Beauty; the other is a later (1979/1980) car which would yield useful
parts, apparently including a good drivetrain. I know nothing about it,
but I don't have space for two cars. If anyone wants it, please contact me
privately. The car is in the Los Angeles / Orange County area.
Thanks,
- Cam.
There is some sort of technical glitch that is messing up my
address. I will space it out so that the computer doesn't
think that it is an address:
Correct: l a w s 0 3 @ h i t . n e t
I will check with Joseph Wagner to see what was happening.
Thanks, Greg Laws
Hi all,
I am a brand-new GTA owner. Bought it as a toy for E/S in SCCA
autocross competition. It has 99,000 miles and a brand new clutch with
a sweet engine. The interior is very good too. The main problem with
the car is that a Kansas hail storm dinged it up pretty good -- but
that's OK because scientific research has proven that surface dimples
(ie: golf ball) reduce air resistence and make the object faster! :-)
I am searching for a set of wheels for autocross competition tires and
will have to replace motor mounts, exhaust, suspension & brakes also --
but that's normal for any autocross car. My last mount was a 1985
Porsche 944 but my daughter stole it from me and took it to high school
(Junior this year).
Everyone that I've talked to has been extremely helpful in finding
parts and in providing technical assistence. I am looking forward to
many years of fun and adventure with my GTA, and to meeting many fine
folks in this list.

Hi All,
I have been receiving e-mail from an Argentinian with a Renault 5 GTS, which
he is complaining has a very high fuel consumption. If you have any ideas as
to why this is, please contact me so that I can pass on any advice.
Thanks,
Dan Smith

Joe Wagner in cincinnati ohio! I have 3 AMC GTA cars-- the
alliance of 1987 that has the 2.0 gas motor in it! Built in USA in
Kenosha Wisconsin, this last year of AMC/Renault France produced a few
of these 2 door sport cars!
If you have any leads to parts or a whole GTA car-- Please let me
know at
jwcool404@... or white me here at this E- Groups address.
Thanks to all the USA made Alliance GTA cars!!!!
After close scrutiny I've discovered I need a factory mag for my '85
Fuego. Any takers?
Did the '85 Fuego have a decal kit? If so, from whom is it available?
Mine was painted a non-factory color. Does anyone remember the Gordini
stripe kits and how much fun they were to install?
Bill Branch
I picked up the Fuego today. Motor is great, but may be running rich.
The first deeper storm drain I hit (at slow speed), I heard a weird
snap, left front. The other times I heard it were when I let off the
gas in a low gear at a relatively high rpm. I'm thinking lower control
arm bushing, tranny mount, motor mount. Any suggestions?
Is there a wiring harness common to the alternator indicator light and
the tachometer? The previous owner wrote me, saying he had discovered
the tach wasn't working (I told him I didn't need it; I only upshift
when the car won't go any faster in a gear). Tonight the alternator
light was flickering. I stopped, frigged with a connector near the
radiator cap which was oily, and the light never came on again, and the
tach worked. Comments?
Bill Branch
I am working on an 83 18i right now. The car has 16,000 original miles. It
has sat since 1985 and the moron who tried to start it bent the #1 valve.

My name is Bill Branch. I'm a little flaky about the French cars. A 17
carburetted, two 17 Gordinis, an 18i, and I just picked up a Fuego for
a toy. It runs great, the mechanicals are not hard to fix,, but someone
took it upoon themselves to snap off some of the gears which open and
close the top, and the top fabric, as well, has seen better days. Some
day I'll tell you about my Peugeots.
OK, everybody, I'm looking for an'85 Fuego top, grey interior, new,
used, whatever, and anyones harrowing experiences of having attempted
to get a top replacement made.
A discussion on tech forum for US and Canadian-spec Renaults. Note: Owners of any model Renault that was imported (officialy and grey-market)are welcome!
