Thanks for the advice, i did take the carbs out to clean the bowls out. talk about varnish...... I counldn't believe the stuff that was in there.......

I would bet a RD350 motor would fit in an R5 frame. It should bolt in using the same mounts....

The RD350 motor is a direct bolt in, you can even just bolt a RD350 top end on to a R5 but then you still just have a 5 speed. The RD400 will bolt right up but...

The frame needs no mods to slip a RD400 cranckcase in it, the rubber mounts are recessed on the 400. Tight fit maybe, but that's about it. ... RD350 ... RD400...
