Well it has been a while since I have posted and that is because I'm
waiting to get the 450SL out of the shop.I'm putting about 4000 grand
into the cams,blower,shocks,bushings,timing chain tensioner and guides
and various other things.One thing that caught my attention is
Mercedes had a problem with a sub frame under the motor that has been
a recall item so ,of course mine was cracking and getting replaced on
the recall also I was lucky enough to buy a 1978 450SL instead of an
earlier model because of the timing chain problem being only a single
chain and not standing up to the stresses. Sometimes it is better to
be lucky than good.
Any way I have been waiting for about 3 1/2 weeks now and I'm
getting anxious to finally get in and drive it with the top down.

Also ran into some good links to help anybody with perusing good
parts and used mercedes I will be adding these later .So be patient
.....yea right ...and I will have some great pics soon
