All good quick advice. Or! Your rings can be worn out
too. Depends upon condition of motor.

Hello,
Something is pressurizing the crankcase. Is it overfilled with oil?
Have you done a compression check? Could be a broken piston ring. Also,
check the PCV, it could be clogged or installed incorrectly.

First thing I'd try is changing the PCV valve, if it's pluged it will cause blow
by. People will say if it rattles its good, but I've had bad ones that rattled.

Yep. Check the PCV valve to see if it is functioning correctly, and also the
breather cap on top of the valve cover at the back of the engine. Both parts
are really inexpensive to replace.
Hope this helps.

Paul, typically the ratio was 3.9 to 1 for 3-speed cars and 4.1 to 1 for
overdrive cars from '46 to '54 (and maybe longer). I vaguely remember mention
of an "economy" axle that was 3.7 to 1, but I'm not sure. Perhaps other list
members have better memories!
Hope this helps.

It's usually because the list owner/moderator doesn't screen new listers by
moderating the first post or two. When it gets bad enough, the legitimate
listers will quit.
This group is rather quiet. Anyone doing anything interesting with their
cars? I have found a little time to get my '55 Savoy out, but not nearly as
much as I would like.
A '57 Plymouth made the news last week when it was unearthed from a
50-year-old time capsule in Tulsa OK. I'm afraid it didn't fare too well as
the concrete vault it was in had filled with water. What were they thinking?

I hope this doesn't violate any list rules or stir up any anger, I wanted to let
you guys know about a project we received permission from Chrysler to do.
2 of my customers asked me about the possibility of reproducing the "Original"
Direct Connection patches Chrysler used. I made a request to Chrysler and they
gave me approval.
We are doing the 2 original patches and a MOPAR Performance patch. If anyone
would like to see the designs Chrysler approved for production and ordering

Hello,
I'm glad to find this group. I've a 1955 Savoy that I acquired 4 or 5
years back. It's a flathead six, in pretty good order. We use it for
short hops and a little blue highway cruising. I posted a couple of
images of it in the Savoy album. I live in the U.S. midwest.
I'm glad to see your moderator is cleaning out the spammers. That's a
real positive step. It would probably to be a good idea to appoint
another moderator to have a backup to the group owner. In answer to
someone who posted earlier, it looks like 83 of your members have
bouncing e-mail addresses and have probably moved on.
Hope to contribute to the group.
Cheers,
David
Nice to see that this has come alive. I have a 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe and
