just as a foot note to the gearbox problems

They didn;t have an auto for the 2.0lt HDI as it was not adequate for
the engine torque and it only came out in August 2006 with the 6 speed.

My son who worked on VW etc said at the time that even the 6 speed was
not a good gearbox as this was also fitted to the VW/Audi.as well.

The AL4 is not an Aisin box, it was developed between PSA, Renault (where it is called the DP0) and Siemens. The 6 speed auto in the 2L diesels is an Aisin box...

From what I have read it is one of those "sealed units" that can be unsealed if you know how. Have a look around the internet, you'll find a lot of people...

Biodiesel will clean the system out not make it dirty, it is a solvent and will clean out the gunk but it will cause your high pressure pump seals to soften...

Can't argue with that - apart from the lack of power from our 1.6lt engine, the gearbox was probably the most unsatisfactory part of the whole car - hesitation...
