By looking at the part numbers for my car at the Peugeot Servicebox webpage, I was able to order active carbon polen filter for 206, part number 6447.PE
It costs little more but makes a lot of difference.

Thanks again Simon easy to see I've never driven a car with ABS! I'll order up a manual and see if I feel capable of changing a driveshaft. I'm sure the dealer will supply the correct part, but out of interest what's the difference in a 180 shaft?

I'm not sure what (if any) physical difference there is, but it does have a
different part number on Peugeot Service Box:
