Hey all. Had a great meeting the other night, sorry we missed those of
you who couldn't make it. Dave hope your feeling better. Here's
something that will perk you up...you were the winner of the points
contest for 2006! So there is a Pete's gift card coming your way. So
start planning how your going to spend that $100.00! Kevin J. was the
winner of the mileage contest with over 18,000 miles logged in on his
Triumphs last year. Didn't know you could log that many miles going
round and round on a track;) Kevin, will get a gift card to you at next
meeting. I need those who would like to participate in this years
mileage contest to e-mail me your odometer readings on your bike(s) now.
Sunday Jan. 14 AJ and I going to the International Motorcycle Show
in DC. Yes I know that Triumph will not be there but hey I like
motorcycles. So if anyone would like to meet up and go with us let me
know. I think we're going to leave early so we can be back in the early
afternoon.
Sunday Jan 21 is the family lunch at the Olive Garden in White
Marsh. We're reserving tables and will get to order off of a special
menu where everything is only $12.95. Kids can order from the kids menu
($4.95). With the meal you get their usual unlimited salad, breadsticks
and your entree. The lunch is scheduled for 12 noon. We had a great
time last year I hope many can make it. It's nice to sit down with
friends and family to break bread and relax. So far I have myself,
Dave, Mike, Carl, Kevin, Scott, Brian, Steve and Ernie depending on
what time the Ravens play :) Please let me know if you are going so
that I can give the restaraunt an accurate count for the reservations.
The Timonium Bike Show is on Feb. 9, 10, 11 2007 and we are going to
once again set up a table in the Pete's section to attract new members
and to talk Triumph's to people. If you volunteer your time you'll get
a free admission to the show. We're trying to get members to sign up
for 4 hour shifts. During that time you'll also have the opportunity to
see the show. The show goes Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM, and
Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. So far I've got Carl and Ernie handling
Friday from 9 to 3, and Steve from 3 - 7. Scott and Brian said they'de
take Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM and Kevin will come in at 4 PM. On
Sunday I can do from 10 AM till 2 PM and Carl and Brian are coming in
Sunday also. I will also man the table either Friday or Saturday
evening depending on which night needs coverage (can't do both my wife
will kill me).It would be nice to have at least two people at the table
so they can trade off taking breaks etc. So if everyone could please
give a little bit of time it will help tremendously. Remember FREE
admission! Also if you have any pictures of past Pack events, please
burn them to CD and drop them off with John and I'll pick them up and
get them to Mike or AJ who are working on the video presentation for
the show.
We'd like to do a Pack ride on Sunday Feb. 18 depending on the
weather. Will probably be a late morning/early afternoon ride as I know
everyone is not going to want to get up and ride at 8 AM on a winter
morning, plus I'll be just returning from North Carolina the night
before. I'll plan a nice ride for us and hope that the weather will
cooperate.
Also coming up is the Annual Pete's Cycle Open House and Poker Run
on April 14 and 15. John is trying to get the Triumph truck for demo
rides. Once again a great opportunity for us to recruit new members and
get the word out on Triumphs. We'll set up a table and help out with
the demo rides and the poker run. Will be fun.
The Gettysburg Raid has been postponed till September. I was
talking with Ernie today and suggested that might be the perfect time
to do the Annual Mason-Dixon Run. Let me know your thoughts, but I
think May would be perfect and we could start promoting it at the
Timonium Show next month.
Long term - Just got a very nice route map and ride review for a
ride through Delaware and southern New Jersey we could do this summer.
Still also have route map through Shenandoah Valley we could do this
summer also. Would also like to do the Gettysburg Raid in September and
Ocean City Bike Week.
Well I think that's it. Hope everyone is having a great start for
the new year. Remember to let me know if your going to have lunch with
us at the Olive Garden. Stay safe and see you soon.
Graham
