Hey everybody, first time I've posted here - been a member for quite
awhile though.
I'm hunting for idea's on fabricating a seat slider for my trike. I
haven't been able to come up with something that meets my
requirements yet.
Due to the configuration of my trike, I really need to put a seat
slider under my glass flat bottom buggy seat. I've got pretty long
pull back bars that make it rather difficult to twist and get out of
the seat. I'd like to be able to slide back and just step out. pics
on this page will give you an idea of my situation

Requirements are that 1) it must lock in place - reliably. 2) It must
be weatherproof - no rusting allowed! 3) it can only be about 9 or
10" wide total and about 1" tall max. 4)it has to mount on the top of
the tunnel - the tunnel sides will have hinged doors for storage. 5)
it's got to be somewhat simple/elegant.
I've got access to mill/lathe, so don't let basic machining limit
ideas.
Idea's I've had so far are: 1)heavy duty roller bearing drawer
sliders laying flat. 2) C-channels, 3) try to modify existing seat
sliders. None of these really work as they will all either rust to
pieces quickly, or just don't seem like a good solution.
I figure this will also help for future sales potential (short or
tall won't be an issue then).
Thanks!
Lorin
