Hey Jordan, you've sent this message to me (oldcorollas@...) instead of
the group ;)

but anyway, the KE20 has either 5.7" or 6" diff. (B and U series?)
both of those can use the Starlet 6" TRD LSD
these are pretty rare, and fetch a high price in japan when they do surface.

the 5.6" LSD (X series?) is a Starlet diff too, but uses thinner axles and
probably not good for you.

there is a 6.3" (S series) TRD LSD... actually i have one i want to sell ;)
In Australia, all AE86's came with S series stock, but most people change to T
series as the axles are 1mm larger splines and the T series LSD is more easily
available

in T series there are early and late types (Zenki and Kouki) , with the late
type using the larger axles, which were not available in Aus. i think those
axles have the double width bearings, designed for the disc brake rear end.

after that you have F series, which have a number of LSD's and ratios available
thanks to Hilux etc
after that is the big heavy G series hilux

what diff did the TE30/55 use? is it S series or T series?
is the AE86 S or T series where you are?

Cya, Stewart

Hey all,

As I've said before, we are searching for a limited slip for our KE20 rear end.
Is there a LSD that will bolt into in the stock KE20 rear end with a minimum of
modification? Maybe a TE30/55 or a Hilux or an AE86 LSD? Or maybe would it be
better to swap the whole rear end for a TE30/55 with a limited slip?

Hi Stewart I broke one of the pinion gear in my TRD LSD some time back in the KE15. In the time I had it was quicker to build a hilux back end so I did. Now...

Spline as measured is 20 x 22.25 OD (so I guess 22.3 OD) and 20.6 ID (Vernier measurements). This must have been the same for the 10/20/30 series jap diffs as...

... Sounds very likely to be a 6" centre then. I have heard that the ring gears from the 5.6" will also bolt to the 6" centre (and vice-versa), but of course...
