I certainly do understand, and I won't bullshit you, GT4s are a painful
annoying car to own, or I'd be keeping it. Parts are expensive and any
time you need to do anything in the engine bay you wish you'd bought
a less complicated car. On the flipside, as soon as you drive one on
gravel you will have a big stupid grin on your face :-)
- red paint is faded, and keyed down one side. Ding in left rear quarter
- the usual GT4 synchro wear on 2nd and 3rd
- due for 200k service (expensive)
- AC compressor stuffed, the ST185 had a unique compressor that
Toyota don't stock anymore, also no rebuild kits. Would need to
adapt something from another car (4cyl Camry?)
- fairly slow power steering leak
- has sat in my yard for 18 months now, though I've started and
run it occasionally
on the positive side, though:
- a brand new battery
- a very nice JVC MP3 player (SH-9105 I think)
- has always been serviced by Canberra Toyota (full history, the
only previous owner is my family GP)
- Whiteline camber adjust bolts front and rear
- turbo timer
- otherwise, completely stock
- clutch replaced at about 180k km. driveshaft seals replaced at
the same time, and I think some other stuff as well.
Got pics of the KE16?
If you're serious I could get the GT4 registered and drive it out
to see the wagon I guess, but probably not before February. In
a hurry? When will you be back home?
I'll be riding north to Toowoomba in late December...
