Hi Rooster,

Historically there's always been an informal un-organized VW bus gathering
that weekend at the Campark just down the road. Both campgrounds are only
about 10 minutes away from the site of the Jitterbug. Pretty much
EVERYTHING
in Niagara Falls will always sell out on the weekend of the event, so
nobody
offers us much in the way of special treatment. ( I think we can get 5%
from
Campark though). Scotts may have an advantage as they look to be a bit
further from the train tracks; the 3AM train at Campark is pretty loud and
they blast the air horn really well thanks to the level crossing right
outside the camp gate.

Since both Scott's and Campark are in the same area the rules will be the
same: Fires get put out and quiet hours begin at 11PM. Apparently the
campground is liable for a big fine if they do not enforce this. Or so I've
been told. Campark also hosts a loud and obnoxious karaoke session I would
love to escape from.

BTW, Scott's website is _http://www.scottstrhttp://wwwhttp_
(http://www.scottstrailerpark.com/)

This is sounding pretty good. I bet there's another dozen or more local
buses I can bring aboard if you think they have room.

Niagra Falls Canada Trip June 2010

Dates June 19 to ?

Meeting place for carabus is Rustic Knowles Campground in Mt. Vernon, OH on the
19th (preferrably). The home of the Great Dixie Bus Campout.

Leaving on the 20th and heading north to or just short of Erie, PA, approx 150
miles. I have researched a few campgrounds in this area, will post on this
later.

Leaving Erie on the 21st and arrive in Niagra Falls Canada the same day.

We will be staying at Scott's Tent and Trailer Park 3 miles north of Niagra
Falls.

As of now the group rate is 36.00 per night. We will need to call in
individually and reserve our sites. I am going to call again and set it up so
we will be in a group. I'll post when I do, so you can call.

The number is: 800-649-9497

I am figuring 3-4 days in Niagra Falls, depending on what we get into to. There
is a lot to see, but fairly close together.

Scott's is 3 miles from the falls. There is an hourly bus that runs from the
campground to the falls area for $6.00 a day and you can sign up at the
campground.

I am making copies of the Scott's brochure and will mail you a copy if you send
me your address.

Websites:

Scott's Campground website can be found here along with everything else.

You can go to this site and find the contact by email and request a Packet from
the tourism center by leaving a note and your address. This takes about two
weeks to arrive. This is highly recommended.

I don't think he was too concerned about the "Samson effect", besides, maybe
Amanda won't recognize him. I fell asleep Sunday night after putting the
kids to bed and woke up to the new 'do. I'd say he looks younger, but, damn,
that's a lot of grey. lol

Hey guys, The wife and I decided that we are going to drop out of bus
ownership for a while. Career changes tend to put things in
perspective. We only made it out to one event with you guys, but had a
great time. We were the "Rookies with the Cookies" from the Frankfort
KY meet in 2008. Here's the lowdown on the bus. 1971 - Westfalia
As you know one of the best years - upright engine with disc brakes 1776
engine with dual carbs - only have about 5000 miles on the engine remote
oil filter upholstery redone on rear z-bed and jump seat brakes recently
redone everything mechanically works pretty well - not perfect, but I
don't have it priced as perfect It currently has a 3M vehicle wrap on
the exterior, with some cool modern art on it. If you don't like it,
you can pull it off - and underneath it is in a brown primer. So you
can paint it however you want!
Here is a link to a sideview, let me know if you're interested and I'll
send more pics. Bus Pics
<http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k162/antmantbone/Bus/?action=view&cur\
rent=n1351059568_65252_7416.jpg> I'm offering to you guys first before
I put it on the samba or craigslist. OVT price is 3000. When i put it
up for sale it will be 4000. I have over 8000 in it, but as we know
that doesn't make it worth 8000! email is anthonyjpalm@...
Thanks guys

Great campout. Great planning. Great campground. Great friends. What else
could I say? The food was outstanding. So outstanding that everyone was in
bed by 10:30pm Saturday night. This was an OVT first by far. Firewood was
found and delivered by Big Al, as a result of some divine intervention. The
driving force behind the campout and the main course (turkey) was Frank as
usual.

Already looking forward to the next one.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!! !
