Rona, Paul, Ralph Noble and I would like to invite you on a ride to Copalis Beach on October 10, returning on October 11. The Olympic Peninsula Ride has been our annual event for many years.

We will start a little after 9:00 AM, at the the Skokomish Valley Grange Hall.  Please have a full tank of gas.  The place nearest the start to get fuel is at the Skokomish Reservation Chevron on US-101, North of Shelton.

The entire route is easily ridden with an old or newer dual-sport adventure bike, street scrambler or Enduro motorcycle and a street bike can do it with a little more care. You will have to be street legal and licensed.

The first day's ride is about 75 percent gravel Forest Service roads and will go over 3000 feet in elevation at Rock Peak and Dusk Point.

We will have a picnic lunch at Lake Wynoochee Dam and an overnight stop at the Echoes of the Sea in Copalis beach is planned.  I will coordinate our group reservation.

Sunday's return route will be about 50 percent paved back roads. The last few years we finished between 2 and 3 PM.

If the weather cooperates, it should be an enjoyable two day ride through some beautiful scenery. Hopefully, the fall colors will be in full bloom. The roads are low traffic with just enough challenge to keep it interesting.

Contact Herb Gaudreau at (360) 830-5927 or herbgaudreau@... if your interested in coming along.
