Hi there,
I'm Simon and I've joined.
I'm an occasional visitor to the North Wales area normally with my
camera so I've got a fotopic website.
So can anybody help me with the following ID queries so who owned ?
1. A Plaxton bodied Dart SLF TRM 15 S seen in Caernafvon in a Green
and Yellow livery on route to Pwllheli ?
2. A Pale Blue Mercedes Minibus also seen in Caernafvon N848 FDT (?)
as well a M Reg one
Thanks for your assistance
Cheers and Happy Christmas
Simon

hey guys, here is something for ya'll to check out. Just been playing around
on it myself, pretty fun actually, lol, and even had a bit of interest from
some ladies on there. Anyway, have a peek if you're interested, been a lot of
fun so far http://www.millionsmatched.info/rpzvv
Hello all,
I've just joined this group and was surprised to see no album of Alpine
buses and especially the Tiger Cub employed on the Great Orme tour so
i've created an album and added two of my photos taken last week whilst
on holiday, hope you enjoy them.
Hi All,
Went on the Crosville Enthusiasts Club tour of South Cambria yesterday and
gained around 45 photos. They have been uploaded to my Fotopic site and can be
viewed here:
http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c609589.html
Vehicles of interest include the Arriva schoolbuses at Aberystwyth and many of
the Commanders on the X32/X94. Some local independents add colour to the
aquamarine scene.
Feel free to take a look and ask any questions or send comments.
Cheers
Mark Haldon

Hi All,
Apologies for repeat postings for some of you but I thought you would like to
know of recent changes and additions to my Fotopic site. I haven't posted to
some groups for a while regarding these so I thought now is the time.
New collections over the past couple of months:
May 2005: http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c528341.html
Photos taken around Wirral during May, with the highlight being Happy Als
recently acquired ex-Irish Volvo Olympian still in Waterford livery.
Adverts: http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c533280.html
This collection includes adverts which are 'mega', in other words they are
applied to the whole rear of a vehicle. I decided to start taking pictures of
these as it is easy to forget what they looked like once they get ripped off.
June 2005: http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c569042.html
This is a small collection of photos taken on Wirral during June. Highlights in
this one include the other ex-Irish Volvo Olympian that Als have acquired, now
repainted and converted to single door. It is the only one of the two to so far
see normal public service, with the other restricted to schools. Another couple
of highlights are of a re registered Avon Lance SLF and one of only a handful of
Alexander bodied Lynxes built, now seeing service with North West Travel.
CEC Tour - North Wales - 11/06/2005:
http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c579829.html
Photos taken whilst on the Crosville Enthusiasts Club tour of North Wales in
June. Some real gems in this one, including a fair few Dodge S56's now withdrawn
in Owens depot!
Liverpool Photography Month - Week 1:
http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c583070.html
I have already posted to some groups regarding my 'photography month' in
Liverpool. To sum this up I have and am using a one month all areas Merseyside
pass and taking bag fulls of photos in many different locations. This collection
encloses photos taken from Friday 17th June until Thursday 23rd June, including
a corker with an Arriva Marshall Dart and three young ladies in the same shot!!
MBC Tour - Herefordshire - 18-06-05:
http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c584629.html
Photos taken on the Merseyside Bus Club trip to Herefordshire in June. Nothing
really outstanding in this one, apart from many weird and wonderful pieces of
scrap in Bromyard Omnibus' yard!
Liverpool Photography Month - Week 2:
http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c591164.html
Following on from week 1, this is the collection of shots taken in week 2. The
best shot among this lot is Routemaster 2723 (SMK 723F) now working for ACE
Travel in Liverpool.
Staffordshire 2005: http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c592446.html
Photos taken whilst trekking around Staffordshire on Saturday 25th June.
Includes the new first stock in the Potteries area and a Bakers Citaro on loan.
Liverpool Photography Month - Week 3:
http://www.markhaldons-bus-pics.fotopic.net/c599888.html
OK, so this was created on 1st July, so it will get two mentions. Photos taken
on Friday 1st July are all that are in this collection at the moment, but this
will fill out over the next few days. Keep checking this as it will be updated
throughout this week. Pride of place are three Ellisons Neoplans, one of which
was the England Rugby team tour bus.
One final thing, some of you may notice the way the collections are organised
has been changed. The photos are now organised by 'date taken', instead of
'filename'. This is mainly due to the fact that I update some collections fairly
regularly and it helps visitors to see which photos have been added recently
(these are the ones at the end of each collection). The date and time is
underneath each photo so you can see which ones have been added recently, as
long as you know what date it is!
HTIOI and please feel free to post any comments or questions regarding any of
the photos and/or collections.
Cheers

Thanks for all that info, but how can XFL have been a Marshall Midibus? It was
working!!!!!
The B -OVAs are nice and straightforward aren't they - I notice two of them had
been A 9 ORJ at one time or another. Cherished registrations? not by me they're
not!
Anyway, many thanks. I should have thought of Owens Rhiwlas for the minibus -
went there once and found trhe proprieter a very nice chap, v proud of his
off-beat vehicles, and spoke Welsh like a poet! And did anybody else see the
programme where one of his mechanics went to live in London for a week?

I wonder if some kind soul can help me with some queries arising out of a recent
trip to Gwynedd?
1. Is JEY554Y now with Silver Star? I saw it in Penygroes carrying both Seren
Arian and Alpine fleetnames! I know it was with Alpine.
2. R405XFL - now with Express Motors? Is it a Dart/Marshall?
3. There were 3 coaches at Express's Penygroes depot, B 3OVA, B 4OVA and B 5OVA.
Where have they come from? Are they purchases or reregistrations or what?
4. I saw a minibus in Bontnewydd, smartly painted in red & green, reg. M231UTM
or UTW or similar. No fleetname. Any ideas who owns it??
5. What is the reg of the RE still stored at Express, Bontnewydd?
6. Anybody know the previous regn / source of Gilbert (Rhyl) GIB 1555?
5. G438GJC, owned by "Powell". Anyobidy know Powell of where?

Sorry again, you might get this several times!!!
Take a look at this link and decide for yourself
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jesus-hoax.html
Personally, I think it could be someone trying to be clever and double bluff us,
probably wrong but I'm not going to open anything to do with Jesus or delivery
failures

One and All
The driver of this bus wasn't sacked!!! He took one day off, returned to
work the next day for his discipline and worked a late that night, lucky get
(not for working a the late).
It was a dog that ran out in front of him, but in the poor light and
because it was so close to him he said his natural reaction was to swerve. He
then hit the kerb, bounced out of his seat, the wheel snatched out of his hand
and when he went to break, having only recently started driving this kind of
bus, hit the wrong pedal, hence why he flew (literally) across the road.
This is what the driver has said to me, this isn't second hand, Chinese
whisper type of info that I've heard going round the depot when I'm having a
ciggie.

I have published the photos from Monday night, they aren't all that
good, but it's something to look at.
http://itsonlybuses.fotopic.net/c526435.html
Will try and get a few more tonight in the depot.
Once RNW pulled her out, dragged her round the lamp post and put her on
the road she was then driven, thats right, driven into the depot. There's no
damage to the gear box, any fuel / air lines or engine, however, body wise she's
not too good, that alone could right her off.

Can any member help me with a question please.
Bristol VR / ECW AYG849S which Jones, Llanfaethlu acquired from
Express, Penyrgoes some time ago -
a, is the vehicle still at Llanfaethlu ?
b, is the vehicle photographable within the yard i.e face in /
blocked in etc ?
Any help would be appreicated and save my alot of time.
Thanks
Hi,
Does anyone out there know the identity of the Arriva Cymru bus at
the Centre for Alternative Technology, now "registered" ECO 1?
It appears to be devoid of fleetnos. etc & I couldn't get around the
back to see if its original plate was still on.
Cheers!
359 is still at Silver Star's Caernarfon
premises, still in Catch a Bus livery,I was there Wednesday
evening. According to one of the proprietors someone has
expressed an interest in it and is going to do a swop with
them for a similar bus.<br>It looks as if a couple
more Bristol LH's are coming off service as I have
been told they have purchased a pair of Mercedes 811
Plaxton Beavers and a MAN Optare Vecta.<br><br>Arfon
I have just joined the N>Wales Buses group and
note your request about Silver Star REs<br>My records
show GTX359N withdrawn by 1/2000<br> GTX361N sold
12/1998<br>no knowledge that they had 360 ?<br>best wishes

I have just set up a new album Crosville Buses in
Preservation. To start off, i've posted these two vehicles at
the Cheltenhan Rally 1/7/01. To keep the club on
topic, I've only posted these two.<br><br>If anyone is
interested in other restored buses, why not visit The Bus
Restoration Workshop at Yahoo Clubs? Also, I've posted a
Standerwick Leopard to the Ribble Buses E-Group.<br><br>Hope
that if we all pull together this site will turn back
into the useful reference site it once
was.<br><br>ATB<br><br>Tim W.
I have just created a new gallery for my
favourite bus,The Alexander Y-Type.<br>This bus was mainly
used in Scotland and many are still in use today, there
are a few dotted around England. So here`s to the
Y-Type long may it continue in service.
Most Mercedes buses come with Mercedes own in house body designs,if any other
body builder is used it`s mainly Plaxton andd the mnibus range anythingg goes
really.
I may be wrong, but I reckon that in First Group, the Aberdeen MBenz could be an
Optare, as Leicester, and the Barbie DD could be a Volvo Olympian with Alexander
Royale (?) body work.
Hello all bus fans, good site but could do with
more members.<br>I Have just created a new gallery for
Stagecoach buses and will be more galleries for other
operators soon,so if it`s pics you want look no
further.<br>I am always interested in feedback for my pics you
can e-mail me at msport@... for anything
related to buses in general.<br>A quick question to all
members at the expense of starting a debate.<br>What is
your Favouite bus and reasons for your choice? and
which do you think is the worst bus ever built again
with your reasons?<br><br>My Fav has to be the Leyland
Leopard Y-Type built by Alexander. This bus just won`t
die,it originally had a 10 year life expectancy due to
the aluminium body but it`s being going for well over
20 years and still looks good.<br>My least fav has
to be the MCW Metrobus, unreliable and dosen`t win in
the style stakes either.London Transport must have
been drunk when they placed an order for over a
1000,and who designed that black, yellow and orange seat
pattern? YUCK.
